Welcome to Healthy Eating - Year 7. This curriculum introduces students to the science and practice of nutrition. Students learn not just what food is healthy, but why - understanding energy, macronutrients, micronutrients, and how diet affects physical health, mental performance, and wellbeing. The course demands genuine engagement with evidence-based nutrition science. Students analyse their own food choices, explore how marketing and habit shape eating patterns, and understand the real consequences of nutrition decisions. There are no shortcuts to understanding food. By the end of Healthy Eating, students will have moved from passive consumption to informed choice, and discovered that understanding nutrition requires rigorous thinking and honest self-reflection. They will be equipped to make decisions about their own health based on evidence, not habit or marketing.
